Knights of Columbus Family of the Month
Robert & Margie Riffle…. June Family of the Month & Family of the Year for Council 8923
When the Riffles left Florida our community was truly blessed. Bob has been an active member of the Knights and has served in numerous leadership roles. He has led our Fish Fry events as well as The Annual Golf tournament. He serves as a Greeter at our Church. Bob has been a Knight for 21 years. His wife Margie is a Eucharistic Minister, serves in the Bell Choir and active with the Charity Knitting Group. Both participant in numerous events within the church and are leaders within the Couples Club also. If something needs cooked, we get Bob to help organize and purchase supplies. They are in charge of the Funeral Luncheons. They both show deep compassion for others and give tirelessly of their time, talent and treasure. On several occasions when Bob was considered for Family of the month he would suggest someone else wanting to support fellow Knights. The Riffles are also the Family of the Year for 2019-2020 for Council 8923.
Zachary & Erin Carter… May Family of the Month
Zach has been a very active member of our Church, Council and Assembly. He has served as Grand Knight, Color Guard Commander and has been helpful with protocol for meetings and Church functions. His wife served as Chair of the Education Committee at Church and is not a principle leader in the Churches new efforts at Stewardship. Zach is a Quality Auditor and is very active within the community. He has taken on the responsibility of helping our Church during the Covid-19 outbreak by setting up the Live Streaming of Mass for all members.
Albert & Catherine Navarro… April Family of the Month
Albert joined our council a couple of years ago and has become very active and supportive. He works at the airport air traffic control and has long hours but makes time for many Council functions. He was instrumental in getting our Council and Church Community to sponsor a 1st Responders Luncheon. He is also helping to plan a Special Mass with services return to some sense of normal. Albert serves as our Chancellor and has recently taken over as the Faithful Navigator for our local Assembly. Albert has also stepped up to help repair our Outside Stations of the Cross with another Knight. He has been supportive of our Council projects and provides valuable input.
Mark & Anne Liegghio…. March Family of the Month
Mark is fairly new to our Church and Council but he and his wife lumped in full speed. Mark is the Deputy Grand Knight and served his 1st year as Warden. He and Anne are Religious Education instructors at the Church. They helped organize our 1st Responders Luncheon and both have been very active with the church couples Club also. Mark led and managed our Novena For Life Project this past year. He recently took on responsibility for another Knight the repair of our outside Stations of the Cross area at the Church. He repaired and repaint the Mary Statue. They both reach out to others in need and truly give of themselves.
